Life insurance and life insurance apps
I saw an add for life insurance- They make it look as simple as information and find out what you’ll pay- Its not always as easy as that. Insurance companies have 20 tables then can price you from- issues like Body Mass Index, previous health history, parents health history ect.
Working with a life insurance agent allows an agent to ask you qualifying questions that help us place you with the appropriate company- all company underwriting is not created equal- some may look at many issues across an industry standard- where some will have nuances as to how that specific company looks at diabetes when compared to another company or underwriter. How one may look or handle asthma may be a little different how another company treats the same issue.
If an insurance agent is knowledgeable about the companies he works with- he will know the best company to go to to get you approved the first time- If your not approved then it could be reported to the Medical information Bureau that you were turned down- (medical information bureau does maintain records as too who was turned down for life insurance and what the denial was caused by.) If you work with a really good agent, if the material was reported erroniously then they can help you correct it.
We do get our compensation for the insurance company -but only if you decide the product is right for you and purchase the policy- Insurance law even allows you to cancel the policy within 30 days after issue incase you feel like you got a bad deal. We dont set that rate- we dont set our pay structure- we do get paid and it helps keep the lights on when you work with a local agent. an app is just going to pocket of all the agents income- an app cant explain the insurance – the agent can work with you to make sure you have the appropriate coverage.
